Wahpeton EXPANSION

Project Overview

The Wahpeton Expansion Project consists of approximately 60.2 miles of new pipeline to serve the cities of Wahpeton and Kindred, North Dakota.

The project starts near Mapleton, North Dakota, and extends south to a new delivery station near Wahpeton, North Dakota to provide additional firm uninterruptible natural gas service.  Natural gas service will also be extended to Kindred, North Dakota for the first time to meet the residential, commercial and industrial needs of that community.

On May 27, 2022, WBI Energy filed an application with the FERC and was given Docket No. CP22-466-000 for the Project.  On October 23, 2023, WBI Energy received an Order Issuing Certificate for the Project.  Construction will begin in June 2024 and is expected to be in service by fourth quarter of 2024.
